Here is an 1836 Capped Bust Half Dollar. The final year coin in this series with the lettered edge. Old original color and patina found. We grade this coin as Very Good. Customary moderate wear on details of obverse. This coin shows a lot of hair details, with bold LIBERTY, strong headband, and hair clasp details beginning to show. A spot noted on cap above B in LIBERTY. Date is weak but readable. The reverse has about half the eagle’s wing details, with more wear on wing on left. All other details moderately worn, with weakness noted along right rim, and on the 50 at 6 o’clock. A nice coin that would fit well into a lower-grade circulated type set. Or start a collection of these: 1807 to 1839 – with many easily found for the beginning collector -- and a lot of varieties for the advanced collector. Enjoy! Thanks for looking. We are grateful. Enjoy. WDED-38
