Here is a large gold-filled Elgin 16 size pocket watch (about 2 inches across). The serial #17256672 indicates it was made in 1913. The movement is a beautiful 7 jewel gold guilt stem set nickel model. The watch case is a B & B Royal 20-year gold filled. It has a railroad type dial that has several hairlines and a cracked glass crystal…. The mechanical (winding type) (111) year old watch winds, runs and keeps in-accurate time over the 24 hours I timed it. It ran about 3 hours slow over the 24 hours so if want it to be accurate, you’ll have to have it serviced. Note: carrying or wearing these types of mechanical watches helps keeps them running on time.
