This is a vintage carved shell cameo brooch. The setting is 10K yellow gold with delicately etched edges accented by gold braid. The pin back is secure. The clasp is stamped 10K. The cameo has one little tiny chip at the very base. It looks like it was dropped an hit something. I can only see this under magnification, not the naked eye. The carving is gorgeously detailed. The brooch measures 1 1/2" long x 1 1/8" wide. Unsigned.
