Here is an excellent condition, antique Elgin gold filled women's pendant watch. Made in 1894 in Elgin, Illinois, the serial number is 4630436. The watch measures approximately 1 1/4" across, which I believe is a 2/0 size. This is a cool fined in this great condition! The hinged openings are all tight and open to 45 degrees, which is what they should do in excellent condition. This 129-year-old mechanical watch winds, runs & keeps time over the 16-hour period I timed it. I did carry the watch to help give it movement and to keep it running. These types of old watches need to be serviced regularly. This watch has not been, so carrying it and using it will help to keep the parts lubricated and moving well. The watch comes with the attached gold-filled chain.
